Summer is typically the time many car companies choose to launch new product. So what can you expect for the second half of 2011? Here's the list of top new vehicles coming down the pike for the balance of 2011:
- Audi A6 - the long overdue mid-size luxury sedan will be here shortly to compete with the likes of the 5-Series and E-Class.
- Audi TTRS - In the OMG category, this one is a beast. Over 350 horsepower from a little sports car. Add Quattro and you have the makings of a Porsche beater.
- Buick Verano - the compact car, based on the Chevy Cruze, makes its debut. It's all part of GM's plan to bring youth to the Buick brand.
- Chevrolet Sonic - this Aveo replacement looks good in both sedan and hatchback style. This is a competitor to the Ford Fiesta and Toyota Yaris.
- Chevrolet Malibu - Hard to believe it's already time to replace the Malibu - which we like - but in the highly contested Mid-Size Sedan segment, it's all about being fresh and the new Malibu brings more styling and performance.
- Hyundai Accent - Since its inception, the Accent has been a bit of a joke. Underpowered, 3rd World Styling, and cheap build quality. Well forget all that as the new Accent leaps to the head of the segment with European styling and a GDI or Gas Direct Injection engine that will leave the competition in the dust.
- Hyundai Veloster - When you're kicking ass like Hyundai, you can afford to take chances. The Veloster is a sporty, front-wheel drive car with a unique door configuration. Think of it as a properly executed CR-Z.
- Kia Rio - If you like the styling of the Ford Fiesta, you'll love the Kia Rio. Add GDI, better content, and a better warranty.....and you end up with one hell of a car.
- Mercedes ML - The third generation ML arrives this Fall and is sure to once again raise the bar for the segment. This built-in-America SUV offers German ride quality and Mercedes excellence.
- Mercedes SLK - Mercedes' roadster has come a long way and this third generation SLK is the real deal. Expect class leading numbers and the best customer service available.
- Mercedes CLS - The original CLS set the stage for future 4-door coupes like the A7 and Panamera. This one brings more technology, better styling, and improved everything.
- Nissan Versa - The Versa has been a rock star for Nissan thanks to affordable pricing and great fuel economy. This Gen 2 Versa is of course, that much better with more refined styling and performance.
- Subaru Imprezza - The only compact sedan with standard All-Wheel Drive gets even better without costing more.
- VW Passat - A new plant in Chattanooga and new energy from the Fatherland hopes to invigorate the Passat and transform it from an overpriced German sedan to a Made-In-America success story. Look out Camry and Accord.
